De legendarische NYC-jazzclub Birdland was heilige grond voor drummer Art Blakey die tussen 1954 en 1960 drie live-albums opnam voor Blue Note op de locatie: A Night at Birdland, At the Jazz Corner of the World en Meet You at the Jazz Corner of The World. Op deze laatste was een van de beste line-ups te zien van Blakey's The Jazz Messengers met Lee Morgan op trompet, Wayne Shorter op tenorsaxofoon, Bobby Timmons op piano en Jymie Merritt op bas. De stemming is hoog, vanaf de iconische introductie door MC Pee Wee Marquette tot en met de twee delen spannende hardbop.
